PhaseOne & Hydraulix

Graeme Duffy, better known by the stage name PhaseOne, is a versatile electronic music producer and DJ from Sydney, Australia.

PhaseOne has asserted himself as one of the most consistent and significant talents to emerge from the Australian bass music scene in the last few years. He first became prevalent as PhaseOne in 2013, already having a strong knowledge in music production. Over the past 10 years prior, he’d produced and engineered local bands and artists for a living as well as his own projects & aliases. Since then he has made a name for himself internationally with his head turning original productions and remixes, combining a unique blend of hard hitting bass music with a rock/metal influence.

In 2014 he won the Disciple Recording’s Virtual Riot Remix Competition. Later that year he was signed to Datsik’s label Firepower Records. With Firepower he released two chart topping original EP’s; ‘Touching The Stars’, which reached #2 on the Dubstep Beatport charts, and ‘Matter Of Time’, reaching #1 on the Dubstep Beatport charts. He has also released singles and remixes through renowned labels such as Disciple, Rottun, Kannibalen & Buygore. He has collaborated with well known artists BAR9 and Protohype all to great critical acclaim.

PhaseOne has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the industry.He has toured Australia and New Zealand twice, headlining venues across both countries promoting the launch of his two EP’s. Towards the end of 2015 he toured Europe & Canada, again headlining well know venues.

PhaseOne’s music has been played and supported by some of the biggest names in the industry such as Skrillex, Datsik, Excision, Bassnectar, Snails, Barely Alive and Virtual Riot to name a few.

With a handful of exciting projects in the works, and his recent signing to U.S booking agency ‘Warpath Group’ 2016 is looking to be his biggest year yet.

Hydraulix is the alter ego of Sydney based producer Damien Williams. Damien’s obsession with music began at a young age growing up listening to hip hop, rap and punk rock but it wasn’t until he was 20 when he put everything he had into music and decided to become a DJ and then shortly after making his own records.

When Hydraulix decided to put his hand to production, although crafting dance floor destroyers he was still always drawing inspiration from the records made by hip-hop idols of his youth such as Timbaland, Dr Dre and Pharrell. Despite making bass music, the roots of his sound can really be heard in the percussive and rhythmic nature of his tracks.

The last 12 months have been massive for Hydraulix, with multiple charting releases dropping on labels such as Quality Goods, Disciple and TWONK, just to name a few, as well as official remixes for Herobust, UZ and Quix. His touring schedule has also been stacked with dates in Japan, China, Fiji, multiple tours of the USA and Canada as well sold out shows across his home country, Australia.

Over the years Hydraulix has received airplay from Triple J and BBC’s Radio 1, Diplo & Friends as well as support on his tunes from some of the biggest artists in bass music such as Herobust, Excision, Snails, Bassnectar, Flux Pavillion, DJ Snake, Kill The Noise, NGHTMRE and many more.

As well as gaining a wide fanbase for his production, Hydraulix is still renowned as one of Australia’s best DJ’s when it comes to Bass Music.
