Sabrina Carpenter (born May 11, 1999 to Elizabeth and David Carpenter) is an American singer and actress from East Greenville, Pennsylvania, USA. Carpenter began her acting career in 2010 with a guest role on the NBC drama Law & Order: SVU. Two years later she was cast as the best friend of Rowan Blanchard on the Disney Channel’s coming-of-age sitcom Girl Meets World, the sequel to the immensely popular ’90s sitcom Boy Meets World. In 2014 Carpenter inked a deal with Hollywood Records and issued the single “Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying” in March of that year, which was followed by her debut EP of the same name a month later. In 2015 she delivered her debut full-length studio album, Eyes Wide Open, which featured the single “We’ll Be the Stars.” She returned the following year with the single “Smoke and Fire”, the single ended up not making her second studio album. The lead single to her second studio album “On Purpose” was released later in the year. Her second studio album, Evolution (stylized EVOLution), was relased in 2016. The second album single “Thumbs” became her first Gold certified single in the US. In 2017, Carpenter teamed up with YouTube star Jasmine Thompson for a soulful cover of Harry Styles’ “Sign of the Times.” That same year, she worked with the Vamps and Mike Perry on the “Hands” single, as well as releasing her own solo single “Why.” “Alien,” Carpenter’s first release of 2018, was a collaboration with British producer and DJ Jonas Blue. The first part of her third studio album, Singular Act 1, was released on November 9, with “Almost Love” as the first single, and “Paris” as the first promotional single. “Sue Me” was the second and last single off of Singular Act 1. In March 2019 the first promotional single of the second part of her third studio album, “Pushing 20” was released. In May 2019 the second promotional single off the album, “Exhale” was released. The lead single “In My Bed” was released in June 2019 with preorder for Singular Act 2. Singular Act 2 was released on July 19 2019. Read more on Last.fm.
